Percy has been called "the richest man in England." Although he is very rich he is considered to be ineligible for marriage because he is so stupid. He is also one of the most fashionable men in England. Sadly, he cares only about fashion and horse racing and the like.
He is married to a French actress, Marguerite. He falls madly in love with her after rescuing her brother from some attackers. She is the only person he lets his guard down around. For although Percy puts on a stupid act, he is really the infamous Scarlet Pimpernel.
During the French Revolution, the mysterious Englishman called the Scarlet Pimpernel rescues people from the guillotine along with the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel. He is considered to be a huge threat to the Republic. He is a master of disguise who relies on cunning to help people escape. No one sees through his act as an idiot. Only the League members know the identity of their leader.
